Free Summer Fun!
Looking for budget-friendly summer activities that are well worth a family trip? We have some great options courtesy of Parenting NH.
If you missed fireworks on the Fourth of July, or just can’t get enough of the excitement of a great fireworks display, Hampton Beach hosts free fireworks every Wednesday night at 9:30 pm through August 29th, weather permitting.
Staying at the beach, Hampton Beach also offers a great annual Children’s Festival August 13 -17. Think magic shows, puppets, storytellers, contests and much more. Even better, your kids are invited to take part in the main event – a costume parade down Ocean Boulevard with prizes at the end!
If you haven’t come out for Manchester’s Trolley Nights event, you owe it to yourself to check it out on July 26th (and September 20th). Ride a trolley all through downtown, stopping at attractions offering free admission for the evening. These include the SEE Science Center, Studio 550, the beautiful Millyard Museum and the NH Institute of Art.
Visiting the White Mountains? If your children love Curious George, you have to check out the Margaret H.A. Rey Center in Waterville Valley. The Curious George Cottage Open Hours run from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturdays; check out their calendar for hours on other days. There is no charge to visit, and the center features numerous activities for children and families.LATEST POSTS
